Been meaning to this for a while as wasn't too keen on the grey colour of the front grill and rear valance.

They've been done with 7 coats of PlastiDip Matt black, and 2 coats of Full Dip super matte which makes it semi-permanent and gives a slight satin finish.

A massive improvement to the dull OEM grey

Cheers, as essnine remarked the pictures don't really do it justice the difference really is night and day!

Such a cheap and simple mod to do.

Removed the rear valance as it was only a case of removing 2 screws and then unclipping it from the rear bumper.

Front grill was done in situ as to remove the grill really requires removal of the bumper and if I was going to go to that much trouble I'd of just swapped for an RS style grill.

So it was just A case of removing the 4 torx screws that hold the top of the grill in place, which enables you to pull it away from the bodywork enough to slide a few sheets of cardboard behind the grill, protecting from any overspray onto the radiator, etc.

Got caught up in the sun over the weekend :p Cheers for the write up, gonna try and give it a go this weekend instead although my rear right caliper piston has decided to seize up so it looks like that's the priority because the squealing i'm getting is super embarrassing! :p

This is also a job I'm thinking of doing as I have black gloss badges all round waiting to go on( white black edition) but still contemplating buying the honeycomb grill to match the fog light surrounds on it now which is the thing that is holding me back as the fact they don't match now is bugging me and I don't want to waste my time and regret it.

Did you purchase new rings or respray them as my front one seems to be an inbetweener and haven't spotted any the same size yet in gloss black 250mm x 90mm but the rear one is easy to find?? Unless my measuring is wrong

Also what prep did you carry out to the plastic before spraying

I contemplated going the honeycomb grill route, but at this time didn't have the inclination due to having to remove the bumper etc. And the beauty of PlastiDip is, if you're not happy it can easily be removed

Not sprayed the rings, they were purchased. I purchased this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/273628520001 ... noapp=true

Rear valance was removed a thoroughly cleaned with isopropyl alcohol
Front bumper I washed the car 48 hours beforehand, to give it time to completely dry out as water is the enemy of PlastiDip and will cause it to bubble if water is trapped underneath. Then rubbed down as much as I could with isopropyl alcohol and gave it a blast with the hairdryer to ensure complete dryness
