Gloss or Matt for grills?

When you respray the grills and stuff, do you go for gloss or matt black paint and also do you then need lacquer on top?

I am thinking of going with some black for my Mauritius Blue TT as follows;
Full black grill including rings
Black rear rings, TT logo etc
Black wheels
Smoked rear lights and side indicators
Black wrap on roof panel, roof rails and mirrors, not around rear screen or pillars, just the top.
And one day V6 spoiler which of course has black edge and a black splitter on the front.

So gloss or matt spray paint? Is lacquer needed?
What do you think of my colour scheme plans?
Thanks

I have the same color inside and out. I have gone Honeycomb grill, black TT rings front and rear and have BBS V6 alloys that have been finished in the current. AUDI alloy wheel metallic grey colour.

I use Halfords brand plastic bumper prep and their black paint. The paint is just off of being matt, just has a very soft sheen, almost like eggshell. Have used it on all grills at front, upper and lower, wheel arch liners and the trim below the windscreen.
