Quote from C/D:

As such, the entry-level 2011 TT gets an improved version of the 2.0-liter EA888 turbocharged TFSI four-cylinder..................But the bottom line is that we don't think the TTS delivers enough extra to justify the price difference between the two models, which is likely to remain close to the $8000-$10,000 it was for 2010. Of course, Audi won't let this rest; we're already detecting rumbles of a 300-hp, EA888-based turbocharged 2.0-liter for the TTS, and that should sort out the pecking order in a hurry.

Yep its all in the kb re the MY11

Lets hope Audi fix the engine sounding like a bag of nails or less diesel like than a 1990s diesel!
im sure Audi are going to make the base model faster and better than the TTS

More interesting is the rumor of introducing the EA888 into the TTS. It'll def. bring the TTS into the level close to the TTRS.
It's not the just the EA888 that brings the extra torque it is the valve lift that it feature's on Audi's. The new GTI has the EA888 but has a similar torque rating as the EA113 due to not having valve lift.

The new Scirocco R and Golf R were given the EA113 also, not the newer EA888.

I know but this talk now of introducing new engine for TTS etc etc when they have just made revised changes to the current for MY11. Seems to me they are potentially going to pee off a lot of Audi consumers? Why don't they either be bold or just leave what they have? Bit like Manci  ni and his Manc City!

What more than just slapping the front end of a TTS on the base models and calling it an update?
or adding the exclusive TTS look as std to sline models?
or adding diesel?
or adding packs for half the price of the normal options?
or adding a 7speed DSG?
or having specs so low polo drivers laugh?
or having a service cycle that makes zero sense and no dealer can explain why?
or charging top dollar for cheap and nasty?

so many things to pee people off im sure the plan is to make the list so big people struggle to understand why they are upset!

Yep think that just about sums it up! I won't be buying another Audi again that's for sure. Sadly this is the way large companies work now - fingers up to existing and loyal - arms open to new - Sky, BT, Banks, Mortgage lenders, anyone else I've forgotten? :(

This forum is full of cry babies!

If Audi never updated their cars then you'd all be stuck in MK1s. They haven't make updates at some point otherwise there is no progression.

It's not like this is a new approach for Audi (or any other manufacturer). They make updates! In reasonably regular cycles. Wait until one of the cycles completes before buying if you want your toy to be the latest possible for as long as possible. If you're impatient then tough, accept that after 4 years they might make some tweaks.

So what if the updates are better than what you have. Does that make your car any less good?

Hardly mate! Just feel let down and suspect I'm not the only one. What I don't like is the way both Audi UK and indeed dealers tiptoe around the subject and deny any knowledge of so called facelifts & revisions. Then bring out revisions which make existing owners feeling slightly peethed!

Anyway I'm just saying as an existing customer they've now lost me, no biggie unless others follow suit.
