Hi, I am hoping to active navigation and carplay etc on my 2017 TT. After researching I have found tutorials on how to do this, but i can see that the mib.solution site which seems essential to obtain some files has been down for a while. I am struggling to find an alternative to this on the forum or any info. Does anyone know where else I would be able to find the files? Thanks

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong here...

The risk of bricking the Virtual Cockpit arises if you have a particular early version of the VC and you try to update the firmware on it. However, in order to activate Carplay and Nav, you likely don't need to update VC firmware at all.
Check VC firmware version:
My VC was H40 0296 and Nav and Carplay work on it.

The purpose of removing the VC unit is to ascertain whether or not it's a production, demonstration or refurbished unit? This may be why you are having problems? With H42 SW0325 those versions you are pretty much up_to_date, but unless you remove your VC unit, you will not be able to tell which version of those three I stated above you have? It's not that difficult a job, just follow this vid;

TT VC Unit Removal

THEN;
1. Once removed take & post some pics of the labels on the back of your VC.

2. Do you have the basic Audi SAT-NAV?

3. Start your car and press the menu button and TAKE SOME PICS's!

4. Have you used the MIB tool?

5. Can you access the green menu's shown by Bob?

6. Look in the Knowledge base thread, there's a ton of info in there!

7. TAKE AND POST SOME PIC'S!!!

@Barmybob - You may be entirely correct - but the Porsche has a centre screen which I assume connects only to the MIB unit - so that may make a difference here.

To activate Nav on a TT, Unit 17 (Virtual Cockpit) has to be coded.
In fact, I strongly suspect on cars with - 7UH Preparation for navigation system (MIB) - on the build sticker, coding the VC and installing the maps are the only things actually required. Worth checking the red menu to see what Adaption keys are already present! Most likely the fec for maps will be there but will have limited the car to three years of maps from new - so new maps won't be accepted until the map fec is updated.

I have only run the update on my car, a car that already had maps from factory so I am not sure.

The Porsche has the same MH12 that the TT has, and it uses the exact same M I B software hack, just different patches, and different screen, but it should all be the same. The Porsche guys also used to use the usb/ethernet putty method.

The chap I linked to on the Porsche forum appears to be the chap behind MIB - Android Auto / Nav etc... Do-It-Yourself-Thread | Page 2 | Porsche 718 Forum

As my car had Nav I only needed to run the patch so didn't go looking for ENABLE.

Hi! I have fixed it. Thank you for your help everyone, I now have everything activated. For reference if anyone is in the same situation, follow the youtube tutorial by fixit and then if nav doesn’t activate, on the OBDeleven (has to be pro for coding), go to Unit 17, press long coding and there is a toggle to activate navigation! Simple as!
