Can anybody help me - I have a mild rotten egg smell in my 225 coupe. I have looked on the forum and this could be coil packs. Does anybody have any more information that could help me? and prices for a set of coil packs?

Does sound like a coil pack has gone. I think they are around ÂŁ25-ÂŁ30 from the dealers.
You will need to use vagcom to find out which one has gone or process of elimination - hopefully number 1 as they are quicker to replace. Replacing any of them is probably a DIY job, others more in the know can confirm. It might be worth replacing all four as apparantly when one goes others soon follow.
It's a common fault - nothing for you to panic about but I wouldn't drive the car unless absolutely necessary (to an indy) as this could damage the cat. (so I've been told).
smell of eggs is usually lamda sensor not communicating with ecu, the cat is probably getting very hot, and the honycombe is burning,,,,,, as others said, needs system check. alan
