Anyone had this?? My lcd display at the top is shot so I can see what the picture is but it looks weird. Sort of like a figure of 8 but as I say can't see the lcd screen properly as it's broken..

Should it say OK when the ignition is on?

If anyone else has this help would be grateful :)

Cheers

If there's a beep then there is a problem. It should be silent and say OK. Get your manual out and look at the fault codes in there to see if you can decipher it and find something similar. Failing that, get someone with VAG-COM to read for fault codes.
Also, make sure the washer reservoir, oil and fuel are all topped up as they would give an error if low. So would brakes if the fulid is low or pads have worn down. I'm sure these cars have wear sensors don't they?

Cheers for the response,

so if there are any beeps it means there could be just a fault code?

i have a code reader and i know the the post cat lambda needs changing so do you think it could be this?

the lcd read OK the other day after I had cleaned the throttle body and then removed fuse 37 like on the instructions. But then the beep came back shortly after. Perhaps the fault code could be why?

Thanks

From looking at the manual i'm pretty sure I can make out that the picture compares to the one for 'Washer fluid level low'

The washer fluid is full though. Dodgy sensor somewhere?

Hello, thanks for that.

The display is pretty bad with lines/dead pixels so figure of 8 is the closest I could think lol. But comparing with the dashboard symbols out the manual it has to be the windscreen washer fluid level warning which is full. So I think there is a problem with the sensor/wiring.

The sensor is on it's own i've read so it wouldn't show a fault through a code reader
