Paddle Shifter - [+] Paddle not Working. But I’ve got a Fix for Free!

Hi peeps I had the dreaded solid + paddle on my 09 8J……. turn the steering wheel till the + paddle is at the 6 o'clock position then vigorously tap the paddle body with your fingers, firmly for about 10 seconds, then turn the steering back to the neutral position and see if it works now, if not just repeat the process, I’ve got mine working perfectly and it’s never stopped working again……..all donations welcome lol .

I tried a similar process when mine did the same. It worked for a few weeks but came back. The only method I found to work permanently was this one:


If it does happen again I recommend doing the above, fairly straight forward to do if you take your time and have basic tools. I also found I didn’t have to fully remove the airbag but could keep it plugged in and leave it hanging down whilst removing the steering wheel trim & shifter. 👍🏼

This worked for me too thanks...I had to go to more like 7 or 8 o'clock, but then it freed up, cheers !
