Possible Clutch Slip/Boost leak TTS

I've recently noticed that the revs can almost stall at around 4k when putting the foot down in 4th gear before it takes off again, seems fine in all other gears although I've not fully tested this tbh

Is this likely to be the clutch?
I'm not a fast driver and I'm not heavy on the clutch

I've read s few posts and I'm guessing it may well be the clutch

The car is a 2009 TTS with 54k on the clock

If it is the clutch are there any recommendations for a replacement ?

I'm still having this issue, always around the 4k Rev level, today I removed the GFB DV+ valve and refitted the OEM unit in an attempt to see if this would improve things (unlikely I guess) I'll advise tomorrow once I've had a chance to give this a try, is it possible I have a boost leak somewhere or would I have other symptoms with this?

If while climbing in the revs the engine pauses at a certain rpm figure before moving further up I'd expect something to be slow in adapting for the rev range. At around 4k rpm I'd guess the turbo is already producing enough pressure. Perhaps the variable part of the turbo needs its time to adapt for higher rpms. Or perhaps the tumble flaps in the intake are slow to adapt.

Ideally you'd have a scan of all engine parameters while moving through the rev range.

In case the clutch would slip, the rpms would increase yet the speed of the car wouldn't. Just like putting your foot on the clutch pedal, pushing it half way while driving: engine starts to rev freely, the car's speed doesn't change.

It does sound like something in interrupting the power at 4000rpm. If it didn't do this prior to the remap then I'd say it was maybe related to this. Strange you thought it was the clutch though mate as the revs would rise as if you had accelerator and clutch pressed at the same time.

Thanks guys, It seems to have gone since fitting the oem DV, I've cleaned the DV+ and re oiled so I'll try it today and see ifs still the same if so the DV+ must be the culprit

Tbh Craig I panicked and assumed it must be the drive, I'd been reading up on clutch slipping on the TTS after a map, hence the error in thinking it was slipping :-(

Hey gogs, mine has done this a few times (prior to DV+ fitting) it's not something that happened all the time ... I've around 58k mileage wise 2.0TFSI. Can't remember if it done it before the remap or not. But when it does happen its a bit upsetting as its a massive power drop then suddenly regains!
Not much help I suppose posting this but I guess it's a fact of yours isn't the only motor doing it... :-/ Lemme know if the problem comes back...

Hey Janice,

This has come back again sadly, I'm going to refit the OEM DV, but I'm wondering if this is a boost leak somewhere, the tts is the first cat I've owned that has a turbo, to everyone else where are the likely areas the boost leak is likely to occur ?

Gogs trace all the boost pipes and get a squirty bottle... Squirt some on them and see if any bubbles come about, other wise it's just gonna be a case of replacing what people think :-(
I'm down on boost slightly and a bit of power according to DYNO runs reckon it could be the turbo, done a carbon deposit clean to the best of my ability and ÂŁ! Haven't done a DYNO since..
