The last 6 months or so my rear diff has started making a whining noise and it's due a haldex service but my local garage who are superstars said that it was not worth doing a haldex service even with a new haldex pump unless I get a new second hand rear differential as it all comes together in one unit.
My Audi TT Mk1 is a 180 on an 02 plate and has done 179K miles.
What is best and where can I buy a good second hand rear diff so my garage can fit. I take it they don't make them new anymore. Can I buy a reconditioned one ? or get one reconditioned ? I've seen second hand ones for sale on eBay foe about £200....thing is the TTs they came off are about the same year as my 02 plate and I don't know how many miles they have done so if I buy one it could potentially only last 6 months to a year and then I've got the same problem again ....please can you help guys as I'm a bit stuck what to do that is best.....thanks........Rob
