I quite enjoyed the film. You wouldn't have known it was an American director at all!

I never watch anything until its available as a bluray rip or a HD web rip at least. Nothing ruins a film like an R5 or a TC or whatever ... and CAMs, you'd have to be 13 years old to watch one of those. Sound and picture has to be retail quality or I wouldn't waste the bandwidth.
Even then I still enjoy a trip to the cinema, my local is a real oldskool place with everything made of wood and velvet. ÂŁ3 on a Monday too ;-)

Nice morals, well done.
You can claim to have better morals, but frankly I downloaded it too. Even movies I have on the shelf on Blu-Ray I have as downloaded. It's how I access anything through my various video streaming devices from network storage, and downloading it is faster than ripping it from disc and transcoding it.

I just use PriateBrowser, a version of Firefox that uses the Tor network to route through proxy servers automatically.

Ripping from disc would still be illegal, so owning the film on blu ray isn't justification for downloading it.

TBH, I think most people who download illegal content will say whatever it takes to try to make it sound ok, but really they just like getting something for free that should cost money. If they had to walk into a shop to steal it, they'd crap themselves, but because they can steal it from the comfort of their own home they're willing to bend their morals.

Ultimately, I think it shows that for a lot of people, the fear of getting caught is what stops them doing stuff, not any strong sense of right and wrong.
