Tax disc holder Q

Hi,

I'm based in Norway so we don't have those tax discs that you guys do - but I recently signed up for a parking service that lets you pay for metered parking by sending a text message to some number that works by identifying your car through an ID that is displayed on a sticker on your car. I'm not a fan of putting stickers all over my baby, so I was thinking about getting some other solution.

I wonder if the TTShop tax disc holders (http://www.********.co.uk/ttforumbbs/viewtopic.php?t=41097) may do the job, can anyone tell me how these are mounted on the dash? Are they attached/glued to the window, or fixed on the dash somehow? Also, what's the diameter of these? My parking sticker is 5.5cm x 6.5cm (2.2in x 2.6in), but could easily be trimmed a bit at the corners.

Would appreciate any pics of tax disc holders in the window of a TT! :)

Mine lives actually on the dash, stuck in place with two small, clear, double sided pads.

Dimensions are approx 9cm external diameter, 7cm internal diameter.
Jay is that legal I thought the tax disc had to be on the window screen ?

Thanks guys, glad to hear it can be attached to the window - the parking sticker has a bar code that needs to be able to be read by a scanner through the window, so I think I need to fix mine to the window, not the dash.

What are these made of, do they look/feel like quality items or are they flimsy plastic stuff?

For what it's worth, I was pulled by a copper for not displaying my tax disc on my windscreen. He was simply sitting by the side of the road on his bike looking for out of date tax discs.

He pulled me over, I showed him the disc and he advised that it should be stuck to the windscreen in future. No fines or anything, just provided advice.

So either he was being a pest and hassling me for something that was really fine. Or he was being a decent bloke by just giving me advice and not a fine. I'll let you decide. :)

He probably couldn't see it from where he was and thought you had no tax at all. I got pulled over years ago, because a plastic TDH I bought had fallen off and was on the floor. Again, he let me off and said make sure you display it properly.
