Well Hoggy, I'm so wet behind the ears on this, I wanted to throw the question out there, just in case.

Lots of room here to drive whatever terrain you want.

I'm in Delaware, OH, right in the middle of the state.
I think SE OH is one of the best places in the country to ride a bike - good roads and not much traffic.

That would be so great.

Hi SciroccoSteve !
7-8 hours to W NY and some great snowboarding.
I'm in Delaware, OH, right in the middle of the state, 13 miles N of Columbus.

I began caring for my '01 last year and have been working on it since:
Bigger in and out - read: much louder with the poppin' and crackin'
Forge dump valve
All the shift linkage bushings
Dash buttons (heated seats, emergency, etc) replaced.
Both mirrors - glass on one, motor and glass on 'tother.
Timing belt
Thermostat
Haldex
Heater core (as BWS-TT, Brin? says, "A fiddly job)
clutch/dual mass flywheel
brakes - pads & rotors
Instrument cluster is going to NC this week.
Seats & door panels as long as the dash is out for the heater core.

I built up a '54 100-4 Austin-Healey in the mid 60's so having a roadster again is a hoot.

Merry Christmas,

Sherman

Bob,
That's a beauty !
I think we have the same wheels.
Mine came with the original, "Fat Five," but I wanted 8" of width instead of 7.5
and wanted to stick with Audi.

Healey's had the best sound. I ran straight pipes when we raced ours and it still had that unique, wonderful note.

There's never enough road time.

Merry Christmas Bob.
Take heart Bob. Yes, you are old, but not as old as I and I'm lovin' it.
People defer to you and make allowances simply because of age. I'm not about to tell them I've a 35 yaar old mine in this 81 year old body. See my grin.

Happy New Year.
Who and where are you ?

Thanks for the pix as I've not seen the insides of an S before.
It's beautiful.

Front end, lights, interior.
Wow

What year is it ?

We may have enough here from the states to have a sub-forum.

I've ordered some electronic key blanks from Amazon Prime.
The plan is to get a lo get a locksmith to cut it and then have the dealer program it.

We've all done it.. but lots of countries' governments say it funds terrorism.. but I expect if you look hard enough, everything could eventually be linked to terrorism.

Example in the UK organised criminal gangs got Cineworld employees to copy the movies as they came out, the money made from these were used towards buying and selling drugs and weapons, eventually the money ends up paying ISIS in Afghanistan.. all because someone wants to watch Harry Potter at home for a fiver instead of going to the Cinema...

The same Organised Criminal "department" (Stevenage) sold magic cable boxes, which gave the owner plug and play access to all the channels, the box was so clever it worked out the new security token within 2 minutes after it was cycled to combat them.. there was also an early warning alarm if the police were raiding homes... to find out if the home owner had a box fitted... (essentially every council house in Stevenage was fitted with cable in the mid '80s, so there were lots of customers as the only free extra channels were news, MTV and VH1) when the "department"s General was found to be skimming, he was machine-gunned down in Hoddesdon High Street.

OBD Eleven is only about 50GBP, but to reprogram keys you need VAG-Tacho (which I thought was available for free?)

Hello Sherman and Happy New Year to all,

I'm in Western New York near Rochester. I've been viewing this forum for quite a few years. Don't know how I would have made it without the help from the people on here. I've got a silver 225 roadster and a red coupe. I just finished replacing the turbo as well as the flywheel and clutch on the red coupe so I could sell it to a friend. I hope he'll still be a friend after TT ownership😀

Hi Yshah80,

I moved here to OH from Arlington 13 years ago to be around while our 3 grandsons grew up.

Pls send along some pix of the Healey. That's the one I always wanted. The 6er in the light body and a four speed. We raced a '54 4 banger, out of Carbondale, nationally with SCCA in the mid '60's.
I went to Warshawski's in Chicago, was escorted to an upper story of the warehouse, where in the corner was a pile, a mean maybe 25 or 30 four speeds, all with the shift lever on the left side. "Take your pick," I was told. I was dumbfounded and mated the best lookin' one to our Massy Ferguson Canada (short block) engine. Full race Crower cam, LeMans head and exhaust manifold delivered from England. Straight pipes cut where the grease pencil melted.

Our first driver's school was in Aspen, their inaugural weekend. We stopped in Denver and were loaned high altitude needles for the 1 3/4" SU's. Returned them Sunday inte.

Thank you for bringing back so many memories.

I took responsibility for my TT because it's the closest I could come to how I felt in my Healey.
I did what you're dong now, a ground up restoration (while a kid in school). Gymkhanas were big then and just led to road racing.

There weren't many of us. My national license was #109.
We bought Good Year throwaways from Hap Sharp and Jim Hall of Chaparral and mounted them on welded together Chevy hubs (same bolt pattern as the 5 bolt rear axles) and Caddy rims (for the width). 60 spoke wire on Pirellis for rain.

Again, thank you for priming me for memory lane.

Have the best day.

I moved to OH from Ft. Worth.

What happened you feel you were scammed ?
What have you done to your car so far ?

Hopefully, someone will read this and get us headed in a good direction.

I just made the mistake of mismatching a flywheel and clutch so I feel your pain.
Fortunately, South Bend Clutch has the proper pressure plate on the way with a return label for the one incorrectly ordered by me. First class customer service.

I ran into a similar empathetic vendor in Detroit Wheel. I couldn't see how they are used. Three had to be sourced. Great service.

I've got HunterDirection, BWS TT, ParrottBros and AndyCharger for guidance.

Single digit temps and a bit of snow today.

Relatives in Colleyville and friends in Meridian will have what keeps them in TX this time of year. Shirt sleeves and maybe shorts.

Have the best day,

Sherman
