Hi, i have an after market drl mod done to my stock lights.
Basically i have the led strip connected to the single running light, first turn on the knob.

Does anyone know how to turn the running lights on in vcds on ignition?
I could see 2 options to turn drl on on ignition, but that turns my low beams/hid kit on AS WELL as the running light.
I just want the running lights on on ignition.

Any help?
Thanks

So if you've connected LEDs to your single light which is on the first switch position, that is basically a side light not a drl
If you need to switch it on then it's not a drl

So looking in vcds for drl options is no good
You need to be looking at sidelight options

I'm sure in the central convenience module there's something to change sidelights to PRL permanent running lights which would activate them on ignition

Cheers mark for the reply, i think your menu system is different to my setup.

I'm able to turn on the side lights and low beams on start up, but i can't see an option to turn down the low beams.
Any idea? Do you have a picture of where to turn down the brightness of the low beams.

Thanks

All of those bytes are under Central Electronics, no other menus needed. From VCDS main window it's "Select Control Module/09 Central Electronics/Coding". You just have to move the cursor through each byte to the right and the details show up - as you did for the other bytes.
Unless earlier cars are different with different controllers. Mine's a 2011 car.
