The machine bit is an EGR delete. That has now been mapped out and also has an outlet for the boost gauge to take a reading. Ideally I need to get rid of the pipe that originally fed the EGR with dirty exhaust gas. You can still see it to the right of the delete pipe.

After replacing my TTS's front grill with a TTRS-style hex grill, I needed a new front badge. Unfortunately, front grill badges that fit this kind of grill are becoming harder to find, but I did manage to find an online store that makes these! They're not your standard OEM badges, but I think it looks pretty great when mounted. Very happy with the result!

Nice with a "correct" S badge on there (as opposed to RS I imagine the grille came with?). But, and perhaps I'm being nitpicky, but the factory S badge is more around the "mid-ring height", yours looks a tad high. The actual RS has the badge low, lower height-wise WRT the rings than the S models. Similarly the quattro badge on standard TTs it's lower like the RS. Andd the same with older-gen cars where they had the S-Line badge in the grille (the Mk2 TT is actually when this stopped).

Up to you of course, but I think if you can lower that down one "honey comb row" or two, it'd look more like "Audi-spec".

You're absolutely right! I may consider moving it down so the badge is mid-rings. I was so concerned about getting it level, that I guess I overlooked that when installing it :)

EDIT: And yes, the grill came with an RS badge (which I kept but did not install).

Brand new set of OEM rear MagRide shocks. The Audi Service center I use has a Meistermechaniker who knows how to remove/install the original caps without breaking them! Nice! Still not a cheap job but one less thing to worry about for another 20-years. Fingers crossed I can get a few more years out of the fronts.

Unfortunately I have the red flashing oil can, low oil pressure warning

Plenty of oil in it, too much if anything (might have been a bit exuberant on the last top up), could that trigger the warning?

Hopefully I can get it checked out this week…

The good news - My mobile mechanic had a free slot today 🎉, and the fault was just the pressure switch @ £12 🎉
The bad news - it was a right arse to get to, and he had to undo a bunch of stuff and drain oil and coolant, then go get the part, then refit it all, then bleed stuff and make sure everything was working fine....so 3.5h labour 😢, hence £273 all done 💰

Not sure hat that guy was doing it can definitely be R&R'd without doing all that...
and

Yes different cars but basically the same thing, nothing in the TT in particular prevents this I don't think. I've done the whole housing I don't remember thinking there'd be no way to get to the switch alone.

On the plus side if your coolant was around 4-5 yrs old (or more), probably not a bad time to do a drain and fill anyway.

Finally got the number of a welder local to me recently. Gave him a call, nice older genuine chap, confirmed he can do the flexi's on my 3.2. He said he's done the 1.8's before A4s, A6s... so shouldn't be a problem. I said at this point I have read into removing the 3.2 exhaust system and its a bit of a bitch, but he didn't seem too phased.

Dropped it off to him yesterday, he reckons yea no problem, days work, £170. So I leave the key and parts with him.

Get a call this morning off him "errm I'm really sorry mate but this is going to take a bit longer than a day, I've got to remove some of the front suspension / sub-frame to get it down. I've not seen this on the other audi's before - is that okay?"

🤣🤣🤣

Reckons it'll be done Monday - estimates £300 which is still very reasonable I think for multiple days work.

He's only a solo chap, does customs, hot rods, that kind of thing.

Well, as I haven’t bought much lately……..time for a big splurge 😂.

As I’d already “upgraded” the rear bumper on my V6 to a facelift TTS to accommodate the quad exit TTS exhaust I bought, along with the side sills, the only thing left was the front bumper really.

I managed to pick up a circa 2013 totally complete bumper off eBay for a great price. It’ll need a respray of course, but hey-ho….thems the breaks, as they say. Surprisingly it was in VGC given the age and it being sold by a breakers yard…..so, win-win.

And after a bit of TLC cleaning it all up and removing the grille……there’s a reason for that 😉

Since my recently painted rear diffuser is done in the same grey as the TTS grille, and my wheels are done in the same, it seemed logical to follow with the theme vs a black edition grille which the donor bumper came with. So, eBay again…..great condition grille bought which I’ve cleaned and polished up to within an inch of its life!

So, the buying doesn’t stop there - just picked up a brand new set of original fog light grille covers to match the rest of things. Now, just need to book it in for the respray and fitting.

BTW, I should say it was never my intention to end up doing this much aesthetic work to the car, things kinda snowballed and as it turns out now I’ll pretty much end up with a V6 looking like a TTS. Never my intention to “up-badge” the car to something it isn’t, but I’m more so doing this for the aesthetic look.

Theres plenty of of spares left over to sell if anyone needs anything - I’ve meticulously cleaned & polished everything I won’t need, including the spare black edition grille which is having the full black treatment with colour coded black “four rings” emblem

And the new fog grille covers that landed today - like hens teeth to find brand new and at a decent price……

It was only a matter of time 😂 but it makes a huge difference. I'm sure everything will be amazingly clean once you've finished with it to. See my guide if you need help with the washer jets, unless you have those already in which case it will be easy

I'd be interested in your OEM V6 grille if you are getting rid of it, as mine has a small but annoying crack. Please PM me if so 😊

You did well to get a complete bumper, so many are stripped of everything, including the one I bought a few years back

Haha, yeah - it really was only a matter of time! - PM sent about the grille 👍

So braved the rain to carry on rebuilding the front end of the TT. Looking like a whole car again.....kinda :ROFLMAO:
She ran absolutely faultless, bar the fans not coming on. View attachment 539763

Bumper has been clipped and bloated in, just forgot to take a picture! It's slowly getting there
You got like three different colours of silver/grey going on there 😀 Obviously will be painted later but what is each colour there (if you know)? I'm guessing the fender (wing) is Daytona Grey, the bumper is Ice Silver, and the hood (bonnet) is Suzuka Grey? But maybe not white enough to be Suzuka on the last one...

It's a patchwork car at the moment 😂
Bumper is ice silver I believe, as for the rest im not too sure!
Maybe I should put up a piece of the car as a price for who guesses all the colours correctly 🤣 (with the caveat that I currently have no clue so......have at it!)
