Hi hope everyone is well on a Sunday evening 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Can some one help me cause I’m being told my engine is not tsfi it’s a tsi but it says tsfi on engine cover/logbook and on car check…. I’m searching for the right fuel injectors and it’s becoming more of an issue after getting the correct part number I’m still stuck and being told it won’t fit my car ???

Part number needed but I’m being told it won’t work with my engine

I've said this a ton of times on here but one more time...

TFSI and TSI don't mean anything in particular, except that it's turbocharged and direct injected. In the literal sense, both of them just mean it's a Turbocharged, Fuel Stratified Injection engine. For some reason they dropped the "FS" and just made it "S".

Doesn't mean anything about what engine it is. It could be a 4cyl EA113, EA888, or it could be a V6 EA839 or V8 EA825, etc. These are all turbocharged, direct injected engines.

The name "TFSI" or "FSI" or "TSI" actually being an "identifier" of the engine is borne from "VW land"/Veedub enthusiasts that saw the letters printed on their engine covers--for EA113 2.0Ts (like in "Mk5" cars) VW printed "FSI"; for later EA888 2.0Ts (like in Mk6 and beyond) VW chose the letters "TSI" instead.

Meanwhile, for Audis (and the 2.0Ts are all Audi-designed engine, not VW, keep in mind), Audi used "TFSI" for nearly all of them and basically interchanged the terms "FSI", "TSI", "TFSI" however they felt like. And again since it's their engine they can call it whatever they like and it will still be correct, so these letters don't mean anything since they used them interchangeably.

So you will see Audi applications having "Turbo FSI" or "TFSI" printed on [cosmetic] engine covers for both EA113 and EA888 2.0Ts, high output, standard output, whatever, all the same thing :ROFLMAO:

Absolutely the easiset way to tell what family 2.0T you have is the oil filter location. You can use the engine code too but it's even easier to just lift the hood and look--is there an oil filter up top or not? The EA888s the oil filter is up top and to the left when looking in the engine bay. EA113s have the oil filter at the bottom. Yours has the oil filter up top so there you go--it's an EA888.

Now whether it's a Gen 1 or 2 EA888 requires a bit more looking--look to the rear of the valve cover after removing the engine cover and looking behind the coils/coil harness, towards the firewall. If you have solenoids back there, it's a Gen 2. If you don't it's a Gen 1.

The info you posted is conflicting--in one screenshot it says it's a CESA engine (this is a Gen 2), but then it says it's "208hp" which was mostly the rating for the Gen 1 engine. The Gen 2 is more commonly seen as "211hp" or "220hp", so the best way to tell here is finding the engine code on your PR sheet; or just looking for those solenoids at the back.

Thanks for the info and yes the pics I posted is more than conflicting hence y I’m left in a pickles, told this and that from left right and centre, like I said it’s mind boggling, main thing is me trying to identify the exact spec of my car for what I need , as for the oil filters location 🤔🤔🤔 that’s what got me thinking different from watching a few tutorial videos about my cars spec and the correct fuel injectors I need….

I looked a little more closely at your first picture. If this is actually a picture of your actual engine (i.e. not a random onetaken from the web) then yeah yours is definitely a Gen 2 EA888. I can see the solenoid electrical connectors just past the coilpack harness so it's definitely a VL (valvelift) engine.

Code CESA is probably correct then (a Gen 2 in a TT I believe can only be CESA or CETA), but it should be 211hp / 258lb*ft.

So your correct injector should be 06H906036P...which was previously 06H906036G. But here's where it gets funny. If you look up 06H906036P it tells you it was replaced by 06H906036S. You look up 06H906036S, it tells you it was replaced by 06H906036AB. You look that up and it gives you...06H906036AE, lol. So obviously they've revised this several times and the latest revision is therefore 06H906036AE, at least according to Audi & VW Canadian sites.

In any event those are the #s you're looking for. I recommend buying only genuine Bosch injectors from a reputable source (i.e. NOT from eBay or Amazon sellers!). The Bosch injectors are seemingly pretty well priced at about $45 USD each--a fraction of the price VAG is gouging for them these days. Though don't know about UK pricing. The Bosch# is 62855:

You can to determine engine type from label in your owners manual or (if still there) option sticker where your jack / tire repair lives. There should also be a sticker on your timing chain cover.

CESA, CETA = p/n 06H906036P
CDLA, CDLB, CDMA = p/n 06F906036F
CDAA = p/n 06H906036Q

Additional note: Looks like injector "P" crosses to "AE" so more options for availibility / pricing. Not sure about the others...

Power is often quoted as 211hp when infact it's 211ps which is 208hp, so that is correct.
