A friend of mine owned an Audi RS4 B5 but bought a Golf V GTI some months ago.
He offers me his set of winterrims+tyres (RS4's with Michelin wintertyres)
They are multi 5x112 and 5x100 old model Audi RS4 rims 225/40/18 ET20
At this moment I have 5x100 Audi S8 225/40/18 ET35 rims with 20mm spacers on back and 12mm spacers front.

Greetz,

Tim

They should do
ET20 not to wide on the front?
And some doubt are RS4(b5) tyres 225/40/18 or 225/45/18...
Our TT's need 225/40/18?

IF they are ET20 then they will stick out quite a bit further than your ET35s. Depends on the width of the wheel as well as the offset, if you plug in the details here http://www.senebphoto.com/Auto/TT-offsetcalc.htm it will tell you how far the wheels will stick out compared to your OEM ones and what max spacers you can use are.

If the wheels themselves are the same width then these will stick out 15mm more than your ET35s.

Need to know the wheel width.

An 8x18" ET20 wheel will be fine
A 9x18" ET20 wheel will not
Ok, thanks! I'm going to ask.
But what wheel width are my S8(aftermarket) 225/40/18 rims? 8J? 8.5J? 9J?

Euuuhrmm sorry I'm speaking of 'J' as widht.
But I don't know if you guys also use this 'symbol' for the width?
In the Netherlands we say 8J
8 is inches?

So are my S8 aftermarket wheels 8 inch widht? or 8.5?

All we need now is the diameter of your RS4s (18 or 19?)

If they are 18s you will be fine with ET20
Diameter is pretty irrelevant unless you are looking for clearance for brake calipers, it is the width that matters Andy as the tyre will be smaller on a bigger rim, so an 18 and 19 inch rim with the same width and offset will fill the same space in the arch.

FINALLY: The 18" ET20 8.5J 225/40/18 RS4 wheels with Dunlop SP Sport 01 A/S tyres are fitted!

Because they are 8.5J wide and ET20, the look sóóó good and fill-up the arches entirely!
I still love the old style RS4 look!
IMO I think they look better than my summer 18" S8 wheels!
Had 18" old style RS4's before, but they where the 'normal' 8J and ET35.

Directly noticed that steering feels way more stable, no 'vibration' and better cornering.
(I used 12mm spacers front and 20mm back with my S8 8J ET35 wheels to fill the arches, but no need for that with my RS4 8.5J ET20 wheels anymore!)

I like them so much that I'm considering to keep the RS4 alloys, and put 'summer-tyres' on them somewhere in april 2010.
Because they are 8.5J wide, I can put 255 tyres on the back!!!
(I think that looks awesome: 225front and 255back)

I thought I bought 'winter-tyres', but looking at them, the are Dunlop SP Sport 01 A/S tyres.
Does 'A/S' mean All-Season?
So can I use these tyres the whole year? Also in (little) snow?
Would be great for me, because I've seen that my 'summer' tyres are worn on the back. They are equal to the 'indicator' on the the tyre.
How comes? I thougt that the tyres on the front would go first?
The set ( 4 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx) was placed 22000miles ago.
So would be great if I can use my 'A/S' tyres for a longer period. Otherwise I have to buy at least 2 new 'summer Dunlop SP Sport Maxx' tyres somewhere in april 2010.
Pictures will follow!

No one experiences with all season tyres?
I've noticed that the ride is more comfy.

Hey Guys!!! is this post alive? haha.... i have the same question.... a friend have 4 RS4´s 8.5Jx18 ET20 ... but i don't know if they will fit on my Audi TT MK1 Quattro???? ... do you have photos ??? can i run with that wheels?.... i already have 225/40/18 Tyres... greetings from México!!!!!!
Depends on the PCD of those wheels.
If they are 5x100mm PCD, then they will fit.

The Mk1 TT QS used ET25, so they are only slightly further out than those.

The std QS wheels are 8" ET25.
Std TT wheels are 8" ET32 and plenty of people run 15mm and 20mm spacers on them, which takes them to ET17 & ET12.

Can't help with pics though sorry.
But there is a post above from 2009 that says they fit fine.
