Hi, I have a 2008 Audi TT 8j and trying to replace the standard radio. The replacement came with a standard quadlock connector and canbus adapter, however the Audi is missing the quadlock connector. I can work out power and speaker wires but where are the ignition wires, amp turn on wire, canbus wires, ect, does anybody have a wiring diagram for these connectors

You can find wiring diagrams along with a number of Workshop Manuals in the Knowledge Base. Workshop Manual Communications - RG 91 - D3E8006B7D9 (2009) provides the quad-lock wiring diagrams and pin-out.

Hi, thank you for the details and links. I am trying to make sense of all the information, it would be great if my car had the standard quadlock connector but it does not, had a clarion unit installed. Will let you know if I have anymore questions

Hi all, at a loss, all ex clarion wiring removed and left with these 2 plugs,I have searched for the pin layout of these on the links supplied but only find ones with the quadlock connector. Does anybody have this wiring pin layout for these 2 x 12 pin connectors

Do you mean that your car does not have an amp in the boot and that the speakers are powered by the HU?

Are you trying to convert the cars wiring to a Quadlock or are you going to remove the cars existing connectors and the Quadlock from the new HUs harness and splice the wires together?
I believe the car does have the factory amp in the boot area will confirm, just trying to figure out what wire turns that amp on. I have an aftermarket android HU, just trying to wire that onto the car, i can see B+ and negative wire, but cant identify any other, you are also correct regarding the car did not come with a standard quadlock as it is a JP car with a clarion HU

Thank you for this, amazing help, think that is the one, this connector looks correct, have found most of the cables now. No additional infotainment units in the glove box, just the amp in the rear boot, still no idea where the canbus connector is, don't see that in the car. The other connector looks to be for the TV Clarion Box

Hi, Yeah once again thank you for all your help, so much appreciated, I am sure I will be able to make more progress. Regarding the Canbus,I found these cables lying in the back and think that ties up to what you said above, (orange/brown and orange/purple), does this look right to you , also just added a picture. How do I know which is High and which is low on the canbus.....Besides that just need the illumination wire, can't locate that and the ignition switched 12+ but getting there

Orange/Brown is CAN Low, and Orange/Purple is CAN High. The two wires should be quite tightly twisted together.

There isn't an 'illumination wire' in the Quadlock.

On our UK/Euro spec cars, the +12v power enters the Quadlock pin 15 via a 1.5mm sq red/white wire which is looped onto pin 16 as well. This is a pic of the back of my Quadlock.

You haven't said whether you are trying to install a Quadlock or making the connections to your new HU in other ways.
Thanks for the picture, I will have to locate a 12+ Switched as I can't see any available on my connectors. I am not going to wire in a quadlock, just going to use the existing wiring from the old HU and join to new loom

HI All, so this is now completely working, tttony and SwissJetPilot were absolute key and amazing in helping me getting this resolved.

Once you know what is what, the process was not difficult.
I cut off the Quadlock connector that came with the HU
B+ and - are basically self explanatory, large yellow and black wires
+Acc(ignition) Not needed, as this is controlled by Canbus
Canbus connections - most important - wiring loom Orange/purple(high) and Orange/brown(low)
Speaker connections - according to the diagram attached in photo
Antenna out to turn on factory amp, goes to pin 4 on the connector

Reverse camera just works via canbus activation, steering wheel controls just work via canbus and HU just turns on via canbus

Picture below of the final wiring loom

I don’t know if you have DAB down under (or if your new HU has it) but wonder what you’ve done with the radio and gps antennae?
The aftermarket HU comes with its own GPS antenna. We don't have DAB services in New Zealand, and the HU came with a short converter cable that plugs into existing connector and straight into the HU
